About Us

Now in its 6th year, the European Digital Press Association has grown from strength to strength - with 18 member countries representing over 1 million readers across Europe, being the last incorporation Svet Tisku for Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Each year we come together to debate, discuss and award the best in innovative technology within the digital press market. In 2009 and 2010 we found the market across Europe and further afield facing difficult economic times and this naturally has a direct influence on each of us in our own businesses and developments. In a retracting economy we must all look to innovate and change the way we see and do business.

No aspect of business has been untouched by this climate and we have seen this happen especially in the R&D and marketing departments. We must choose to change and evolve.

The EDP is no exception to this rule and in 2011 we have chosen to evolve and grow into an association that is even more representative of the digital print industry by inviting suppliers and businesses to become associate members of the EDP. By becoming an associate member of the EDP Association you will join a community of high profile, well respected and influential people who continually strive for the ongoing development and growth of the digital print market.

We hope very much that you will join the EDP and help us achieve these aims.

The EDP founding members.

On the 28th October, 2006 a few leading magazines of the European digital graphic press met in Salzburg (Austria) with the firm intention to lay the foundations for an association the aim of which was and still is to serve as a forum for its members and the digital printing industry. The assembly gathered Manfred Diehl (DESKTOP DIALOG, Germany), Chris Cooke (IMAGE REPORTS, England/Ireland), Lorenzo Villa (ITALIA PUBLISHER, Italia), Gerhard Bartsch (PLAKATIV, Hungary), Agustín Torres (PRO-DIGIT@L, Spain/Portugal), Martin Spaar (PUBLISHER, Switzerland) and Rudolf Messer (X-MEDIA, Austria).
The founding members held the second Assembly in March 2007 in Barcelona , where the EDP Statutes were subscribed and signed. The Assembly accepted the magazines DIJITAL TEKNIK (Turkey) and SIGNPRO BENELUX (Benelux) as new members of the EDP.
In March 2008 the EDP welcomed the magazines CMYK (Greece), PUBLISH (Russia), AGI (Denmark) and FRANCE GRAPHIQUE (France) as new members of the Association.
PRINT & PUBLISHING POLAND (Poland) joined the EDP in February 2009.
Due to internal reasons, in October 2009 AGI Denmark decides to temporarily discontinue membership.
In December 2009 AGI Finland was welcomed as new member of EDP.
In 2010 the membership countries number 15 and between them represent a readership of more than 1 million.
